Overview
In forum discussion, the mixed doubles pairs Zheng/Huang, Wang/Huang, Watanabe/Higashino, and Dechapol/Sapsiree are so dominant that players call them the “Big4.” Since Tokyo 2020, Super Series gold has largely belonged to them. Recently Zheng/Huang look especially strong and stable at the front of the pack; the other three are still serious threats. Huang/Ya beat Zheng/Huang at Tokyo for gold; Dechapol/Sapsiree joined the elite with their 2021 Worlds title; Watanabe/Higashino have All England gold and Worlds silver among other honours. As a racket chosen by Olympic champion Huang Dongping and World champion Dechapol Sapsiree for the 2022 Japan World Championships, I had high expectations.
Appearance and paint
Arcsaber 7 Pro follows Arcsaber 11 Pro in overall paint direction: pearl grey is understated and elegant; yellow-green contrast adds punch — like badminton itself, always energy on court. Straight-line frame graphics in silver, grey, and yellow sharpen the look — matching Yonex’s line for Arcsaber 7 Pro: ride the sword, born for battle. It taps that wuxia fantasy — sword on the wind, demons between heaven and earth. On court with a racket you love, sprinting and trading blows with strong opponents — hard to beat.
On-court experience
Review unit: 4U G5, made in Japan, recommended tension 19–27 lbs. Frame uses 76 holes, length 675 mm, cap matches Arcsaber 11 Pro — E-B CAP Plus. Strung Yonex ABBT at 26 lbs. Design philosophy largely mirrors Arcsaber 11 Pro; Arcsaber 7 Pro adds small shaft and frame tweaks for better flex and torque. Specs are a starting point — hands-on time tells the truth. I ran Arcsaber 7 Pro as a daily main racket and logged feel across situations. Arcsaber 7 Pro is mainly a box frame: grooved top and bottom, smooth mid section. Versus typical box-frame rackets, the thinner frame and lower swing weight feel light and fast like a speed racket at first — but the box frame still delivers excellent stability on contact. New Arcsaber Pro materials and tech make sweet-spot feedback very clear; off-centre hits feel less ideal. Unlike older, very sweet Arcsaber feel, feedback adds crispness and resilience. Higher-modulus carbon raises frame and shaft stiffness clearly. PB Elastic plus the fish-mouth cap improve precision and shuttle speed but sacrifice some dwell. From endorsed players and fixed specs, I read it as front- and mid-court focused. In daily play it suits mixed doubles players who fight hard up front — where Arcsaber 7 Pro met expectations. Flat drives and fast blocks are almost effortless; low swing weight cuts fatigue in fast front/mid exchanges. Fast drives, net drops, and pushes stay quick and stable; the large frame helps attack-defence transitions; net play stays Arcsaber-grade; clearer feedback makes power and angle adjustments easier. Rear court is what most players ask about. Clears are crisp with good direction, but you cannot lean much on racket mass — you need your own power. Drops are strong: high stability and speed help control while staying threatening. Smashes are weaker — no one-shot finisher — but stability and precision open more placement and variation. Rear-court continuity is as easy as front/mid, almost relaxed. Feel shifts with effort level. On big rear-court drives and smashes the shaft flexes clearly; with suitable frame flex and torque, power flows smoothly. Back at front/mid, feedback turns firm again — faster, more precise output.
Summary
Arcsaber 7 Pro is a light, stable, control-leaning all-round racket for front/mid-focused doubles players. Low swing weight lowers the entry barrier; the thin box frame gives speed with stability; front/mid play and passive defence are strong. Clears and drops need focused power for ideal results; rear smash threat is limited but control and line variation are rich. Arcsaber 7 Pro specs: frame — high-resilience carbon + PB Elastic; shaft — high-resilience carbon + ULTRA PE fibre; length 675 mm; weight 4U; grip G5/G6; shaft stiffness stiff; recommended tension 19–27 lbs.
