Overview
DriveX 12 ZSW is Zheng Siwei’s DriveX 12 variant — gloss purple / black / silver paint with Zswing and slash marks, Nanjing production on units I have seen. Tech stack stays near full DriveX 12 (alloy carbon, WES 3.0, nano aerogel, Free Core) but drops Power Ring PRO at Zheng’s request for stronger whip. Versus the orange-black original, ZSW is tuned softer in the shaft, lighter in the head, and closer to a forgiving balance racket than an attack-leaning Drive flagship.
Feel
First impression versus memory of original DriveX 12: softer, easier to find active force, lower swing weight, better continuity. Whip is the selling point — shuttle feels drawn and cracked like a spinning top. Frame–shaft unity ranks among the best I have used; the face feels like an extension of the shaft. Shaft is still hard-elastic, just softer than original DriveX 12. Clears show brief bed dwell and wrap; alloy carbon keeps overall hit hard, WES 3.0 adds downward press. Sweet spot is not huge — above pure attack frames, still needs accuracy. Smashes leave fast with sharp placement; lighter head and aero top help continuous doubles / mixed rear press more than one-hit heaviness. Flat mid-front drives benefit from the lower drive threshold — short power is easier, recovery to ready position is quicker than on the heavier original. Defence: hard feel still resists pure borrowing; elastic shaft helps low lifts. Passive turns still need real arm. Hold on EXBOLT 65 is stronger than on many speed frames — matches Zheng’s long preference for balance rackets with pocket (DriveX 10 LT, Arcsaber 11 Pro territory) rather than pure speed sticks.
Who it suits
Buy ZSW if you want DriveX flagship tech with lower entry than original DriveX 12, clear whip, and mixed / doubles continuity. Stronger as a balance all-rounder than as a pure rear cannon. Skip if you want maximum smash weight and the harder original DriveX 12 character. Power Ring PRO removal is intentional whip tuning, not a random cut. Verdict: Zheng Siwei’s court preference written into a DriveX — whip first, balance second, still serious when you load it.
