Setup

900 New samples: 4U G6 empty ~84.4 g / play ~91.2 g at 300 mm; 3U G5 empty ~87.9 g / same ~91.2 g play weight at 303 mm with cap off — 3U mainly adds swing weight and a slightly firmer shaft read. Compared at 4U against Nanoflare 1000 Z, Victor Auraspeed, and Taiwan-made Thruster Falcon SE.

Rankings from this hand

Head size large→small: Falcon SE > Auraspeed > 900 New > 1000 Z. Swing speed fast→slow: 900 New > Auraspeed > 1000 Z > Falcon SE. Shaft hard→soft: Auraspeed > 1000 Z > Falcon SE ≈ 900 New. Forgiveness high→low: Falcon SE > 900 New > 1000 Z > Auraspeed. Borrow: 900 New strong — helps length for weaker arms, costs some pointing precision versus 1000 Z / Astrox 100X SE-class control.

Versus each

1000 Z: Higher empty weights common (~85.5 g+); wide sidewalls keep solidity without float. Harder shaft, higher ceiling for strong hands; 900 New is lighter-swing, faster chain, stronger borrow, slightly less ultimate precision on familiar string/tension. Auraspeed: Matches or beats 900 New swing speed at equal empty weight, but many 4U Auraspeed empties sit 85–86 g+ while 900 New often lands ~83 g. Auraspeed explodes harder; 900 New is faster, more continuous, easier, and more forgiving — wider doubles audience. Max-stiff Auraspeed shafts also hurt more on passive balls. Falcon SE (TW): Friendliest of the hard small-head set — a touch more pocket than 900 New’s instant-off snap, better drop and net fine control. 900 New is crisper, faster, less hold. Different tools, not clones.

Buy notes

900 New if you want top-tier swing speed with usable forgiveness and strong borrow in doubles. 1000 Z for planted high-ceiling Yonex speed. Auraspeed for max explosion if you can drive a heavy empty. Falcon SE for control-friendly small-head crispness. Skip 900 New if strong borrow blurs your placement or you need sticky hold.
