Overview

AxForce 90 Dragon Max is Li-Ning’s early-2022 ultra-thin-shaft attack flagship: Toray M50 carbon, foam-in-frame stories, mid sweet box head, 6.2 mm hard shaft, Dragon (blue) and Tiger (red) paint. Versus AxForce 80 it swings more head-heavy, cuts wind better, and hits harder-straight. Versus Astrox 100ZZ (4U) it often shows clearer face feedback and stronger wrap on some hands — with a stamina bill that is real.

Feel

Hand-bend on the shaft fights back — hard, not soft-whip marketing. First rallies: brittle-hard collision without dead wood; full swings still find elastic length. Face stable, pointing among Li-Ning’s best from this era. Small-mid head forgiveness is only average — rushed net and defence frame more. Smash: press arc and whip deformation can exceed 80 and sit with or above 100ZZ / “dragon tooth” references on some test sets; recovery is fast. Continuity is excellent when fresh; average fitness empties quickly if you force every rally through the hard shaft.

Who it suits

Advanced singles attackers who want extreme hard-straight feedback and will manage stamina — often start sessions on Dragon Max, then rotate. 4U widens the audience slightly. Skip if you need 80’s balanced manners, 90 New’s sugar continuity, or soft defence forgiveness. Pairing notes often favour crisp Li-Ning N61-class strings.
