Overview
Kumpoo finally shipped the G815 I cared about from the spring launch. G805 and G815 share DNA with a proven ultra-light speed template, but 815 got more polish and more in-house tech. They look like brothers on a chart — in hand they are different shoes.
Upper and fit
G815 looks nothing like G805 — I prefer it. Five large vent windows per side (mesh only) plus a toe triangle mean roughly half the upper is open mesh — aggressive “five-toe dragon claw” branding and real weight savings. Marketing photos are tame versus retail. Sock-style entry with full padding — heel through forefoot wrap evenly. Last matches G805; Roman/Egyptian feet may want half a size up (I did). Vents fix G805’s summer stuffiness; on court it genuinely feels like air underfoot. Delicate-looking, but inner bridges and a geometric TPU shell hold the claw shape and torsion. Half size up left toe room without slack — lacing and loops lock the foot. The cupped heel limits ankle roll. Forefoot stability beats even thick “armour” shoes like Houyi Pro in my testing.
Speed stack
Weight comes from stripped upper and thin Verolite midsole, but speed is also rocker, foam, and rubber. Steep forefoot drop starts the first step early; light EVA plus graded Verolite returns push-off; segmented triangle lugs bite like soft slicks — leg power converts to acceleration. 815 feels faster on court than lighter 805 despite the scale.
Cushion and limits
ACF with EVA handles landing and launch for average-weight competitive play. Medial forefoot KPU finishes durability. Not a universal bucket shoe: strong rocker, weaker arch — my first hard session left foot fatigue and demands leg strength. I pair with KI-88 insoles when needed.
Verdict
Dragon Claw is sharp, violent, and precise — mobility plus protection in one package. G815 trades G805’s leather look for maximum ventilation and a more complete speed-stability blend. If you want a ventilated Kumpoo flagship that still braces hard cuts, start here.
