Bonny LeiSu 800 review: a fast attack racket with real bite

NF800-style frame speed, foam-filled stability, and a 6.5mm solid shaft make the LeiSu 800 a sharper racket than its price tier suggests.

Overview

Another standout speed-offensive racket: the Bonny Thunder Speed 800, new under the Thunder Speed series. The line also includes 800 LT, 800 Pro, and base 800. The 800 and 800 LT share Nanoflare 800 frame shape — the 800 uses foam-filled frame plus solid shaft (4U only); 800 LT uses hollow air-channel frame plus hollow shaft (5U only). The 800 Pro uses a wide wind-cut frame (reviewed separately). Below is roughly half a month of use on the Thunder Speed 800.

Overall feel

After removing the cap and wrapping grip directly: noticeable head weight but moderate swing weight — chains feel fast. Frame not especially large; sweet spot moderate yet concentration very strong. Shaft stiff-side but highly elastic. Excellent torsion resistance; stability and control high; shuttle leaves the face directly without stickiness or harsh vibration. For players who generate power it is extremely satisfying — elastic yet stable, thorough power transfer, never dead. Suited to singles drop-and-rush control and doubles rear offence or front flat exchanges.

By shot type

Clears: shaft moderately stiff-side with excellent elasticity; obvious head weight and follow-through. Forehand clears land deep; passive backhand clears with added whip come out hard with clean escape. Offence: strong concentration plus excellent shaft — very elastic for skilled players. Full and point smashes both heavy and fast; moderate swing weight; excellent chains; no frame wobble; precise placement. Flat drive and net: Nanoflare 800-style ultra-thin narrow fluid box swings faster than traditional fluid box — quick reactions; fast, hard contact without stickiness. Sweet spot not large — net needs finer touch. Static net exchanges stay high quality; match movement depends more on fundamentals.

Frame technology

- Shape: 76-hole small frame cuts drag all round — faster swing, better passive defence and counter-drive. Side grooves extremely thin beyond string channels. - Materials: high-rigidity carbon, triple-moulding, carbon T-joint — max anti-torsion. - Foam fill: polymer solid foam — solid stable feel, effective vibration filtering. Cosmetics use reflective stickers that glitter under light — distinctive and eye-catching; wavy-cut top finish is a classic Bonny touch.

Shaft technology

Mature nickel-titanium wire with 40T high-modulus solid 6.5 mm shaft — fast rebound, clear feedback, strong torsion, solid transparent power transfer. Double fish-mouth cone cap and carbon cap with Bonny logo.

Verdict

Thunder Speed 800 looks sharp under lights and performs strongly — smashing is extremely satisfying, control very stable. Modest learning curve: players who struggle to generate power may find it harder. Best for intermediate to advanced players.
