Overview

I have spent half a year sampling light, quick-response shoes that try to cover every dimension. Most of them are good — and somehow not the flavour I chase. Court feel is an addiction for speed-oriented players. Years ago I tried that near-naked ground connection and could not handle it. With steadier training and better footwork, I wanted the aggressive version again. Mirage II Pro ( II Pro) is Li-Ning’s answer. Not Saga III Pro, not Blade II Pro, and definitely not Yonex Aerus — different lines entirely.

Fit

Lining fill is modest but wrap and breathability are excellent. High-instep crush from Gale SE is improved. The last is picky — wide feet should size up. Strong rocker, firm midfoot arch — race-ready from the first lace-up, not a soft lifestyle shoe.

On court

Rocker plus 277 g makes response feel organic: accelerate, stop, restart, lateral cuts. Heel Super Boom works as propulsion here (in other Li-Ning shoes the same foam can read as cushion). Sticky honeycomb outsole grips like a hot-melt tyre — if your core is weak, the shoe will drag your upper body around. Structure tech (wrap, torsion, anti-roll) keeps the foot and shoe as one piece; rigidity feels like a by-product of speed tuning, not a separate comfort agenda. There is no “comfort mode.” Prefer less horsepower over an extra kilo — that is the brief. Pure speed costs lower-limb strength and refuses the all-round compromise most light shoes now market.

Verdict

If you want balanced cushion-and-speed, look elsewhere (Saga III Pro lives in that lane). If you want court feel and launch above everything else, Mirage II Pro is the purest Li-Ning speed shoe I have worn. Slow is not the point. Want speed, get there.
