Overview
Li-Ning GP100 Pro is a new budget-minded dry overgrip built on domestically developed material. Headline claims: dry hand feel, fast sweat absorption and lasting grip without the sticky tack of conventional overgrips. For players who dislike towel grips but want reliable hold when hands sweat, it lands as a strong value option.
Feel and grip
Surface feel is weak-tack and dry—soft, fine touch, fresh without stickiness. Daily use picks up less dust; long rallies do not leave hands clammy or sore. Micro-pores on the surface absorb sweat aggressively. Even moderate sweaters report barely visible moisture on the grip after sessions. Anti-slip stays stable: forcing the hand to slide produces strong friction and a scratchy sound—very different from the tackier Yonex AC102C, which remains more sticky. Players new to dry grips should expect no “clingy” sensation—that is intentional. The grip does not pick up dust, hair or debris easily, so storing it in a bag and reusing later stays clean.
Material, smell and wrap length
Odour is essentially absent—I pressed it directly to the nose with no detectable smell. Feel is very soft, similar in thickness and comfort to Li-Ning GP1000 New— sufficient padding for wrist comfort without overly dulling shot feedback versus thin match overgrips. Supplied length is generous: enough to wrap past the cone cap with margin; shorter builds may need trimming. Packaging is a three-grip strip—common industry format but awkward to store the unused pieces unless you are accustomed to it; a boxed multi-pack with individual wrapping would help.
Durability and value
Durability is solid for the price: less peeling or crumbling in daily play, slow wear, good lifespan. Comes with dust film and dedicated finishing tape—easy wrap, high adhesion, edges less likely to lift. Versus mainstream hot overgrips: drier feel avoids sticky clammy issues; grip rivals big brands at lower price. Good balance between soft comfort and shot feel—strong value for practice or amateur events as a budget alternative to premium overgrips.
Who it suits
Especially suitable if you are not used to towel grips, understand dry overgrips, sweat moderately to heavily, and want cost-effective feel. Less ideal if you prefer tacky AC102C-style cling or ultra-thin hard match grips only.
