The Bladesabre 2 Pro is the flagship of Li-Ning’s fast-launch shoe line. The first generation was already impressive; gen two aims at lighter weight, better upper comfort, sharper startup and—critically—a fix for the slip complaints that haunted earlier Bladesabre outsoles. Overall verdict for me: expectations met. Looks, lighter on-foot feel, crisp launch, balanced anti-torsion and reliable grip combine into a speed-and-protection all-rounder worth buying if you want fast startup with reasonable stability.
Design
The colourway is mainly white with the classic marshmallow outsole—high recognition on court. The logo continues the Bladesabre family mark; water-wave colour-shift details on the upper add interest without shouting. Style is low-key yet deliberate; I find the pairing easy to live with long term.
Fit and first impressions
Versus the first-gen Bladesabre MAX, the 2 Pro feels lighter at first step. The gen-two upper uses softer, skin-friendlier material that wraps immediately—tighter, more comfortable containment without harsh pressure.
On-court feel
Forefoot feel is firm but not harsh. Launch is crisp with no drag, yet it does not feel like stepping directly on bare mat. Forefoot thickness is judged “just right” for response; the rear cushion layer is slightly thicker but still moderate, and the in-shoe slope is gentle—long sessions stay comfortable without abrupt heel-to-toe transitions. Anti-torsion tuning sits between speed shoes and protective shoes: maximum forefoot flexibility for launch and direction changes, rear-foot emphasis on stable support. Flexibility, comfort and protection all show up in everyday club play rather than forcing a pure speed or pure stability compromise.
Outsole and traction
The outsole was the most watched upgrade. Li-Ning replaced the old pattern with a new honeycomb rubber layout after repeated slip feedback. In recent sessions—hard stops, cuts and push-offs—grip stayed stable with no slipping, which adds real match confidence.
Who it suits
Best for players who prioritise quick first step and balanced match feel rather than maximum cushioning or brick-like stability. If you liked Bladesabre gen one but wanted better grip and a lighter, softer upper, gen two is the logical step.
