Overview

0.62 mm is a cold niche. Gosen Raimei 62 claims a nylon core with special twist for post-impact rebound recovery and a finer side wrap for tension holding and energy storage. On court it plays different from the eject-before-contact thin strings (XB63 / AS types).

Control first

Very elastic, but with strong dwell. Best thin-string net and control forgiveness I have used — Z58 sits second. Cuts, drops, rear slices, skids, sharp drop-over-net all feel cooperative. Effortless depth on long and diagonal rallies; endurance gets a free buff.

Attack problem

Clear unload; smash rhythm hard to find; soft feedback; smash power and sound sit below what the elasticity suggests. Even on sweet-spot contact it refuses the burst I get from something like L64. I still have not solved that at publish time.

Durability

Main-racket long use left the coating unmarked. Tension plateau feels like a “thin NBG95.” Not a bucket all-rounder like N65 or JS67 — think a bucket with an elasticity long board, real durability, and finesse bias.

Verdict

Non-mainstream and excellent if control and lifespan matter more than smash theatre. Skip it if you buy thin string specifically to hear the smash crack.
